Vintage disco throwback with great vocals and catchy hook. This is the story of how my best friend and I used to lip sync to our favorite classic rock records in the late 70's.

Her style ranges from singer songwriter pop songs to standard and bebop jazz and big band swing including some soul and R&B. The Guitar

I can hear your melody from afar
and I try to sing along
With the song you're playing on your guitar
    and it's beautiful and strong

It's a precious gift I want you to touch
Give your heart a lift, I don't ask for much
but the melody from your guitar

Every time you play I can hear it clearly
    It flows within my heart
Though you're far away it always brings me near
It's so painful to be apart

I miss you day and night
I will wait wait for you
Love you with all my might oh my love is true
and the sun will shine again on your guitar

Keep playing melodies to resurrect those days
I'll sing them loud and strong like you never went away

I miss you day and night I will wait for you
Love you with all my might oh my love is true
And the sun will shine again on your guitar.

    You Haunt Me

You haunt me with your mysterious ways
You haunt me, it’s just a sad little gaze
    But something in your eyes
    Makes me foolish and unwise
And soon I’m hypnotized by your charms

You haunt me, and I fall to my knees
You haunt me, like a fatal disease
You strike when I am down
And you keep on hanging ‘round
And my heart becomes unwound because you haunt me

Oh, I have so much feeling for you
    I don’t adore you
In fact I wish you’d disappear
Although I can’t live my life without you
It’s all about you, that’s why

You’ll haunt me until the end of my days
You haunt me, it’s not a casual phrase
    You haunt me ever still
    I know you always will
Oh please release me from this thrill
    You haunt me

    Drinking in the Dark

It's been a long day and I've got to unwind
Put down my briefcase and loosen my tie
Hey Mister, have you got a light
So I can smoke a cigarette on this lonely night?

Hey bartender, can you pour me a drink? Scotch!
I'm feeling restless and I don't want to think
I would appreciate a kindly remark when I'm
    drinking in the dark.

Nobody loves me, that's the way that it seems
And when I'm sleeping, I'm haunted by my dreams
I may have given up the life I could have led
But what have I got instead?

I've got a dreary job from nine until five
That pays a measly wage that keeps me alive
And my apartment's always empty and bare
Hey mister bartender, do you care?

Sinatra's on the radio, I love to hear him sing
It seem that I'm the only one who's ever listening
And maybe tomorrow I'll go walking through the park instead of drinking in the dark.

I really wish you'd turn the lamp down low
and pour yourself a drink before I go
I just can't seem to face the morning light
so I'm drinking in the dark tonight

Oh yeah, I'm drinking in the dark tonight.

Story

I wrote this Bluegrass tune after a visit to Florida.  I drove to Jupiter and really enjoyed the trip.  The song is about feeling good and being positive.

Lyrics

I’m heading down South and gonna

Get the band together

Take a ride to Jupiter

Now everything is alright

Especially the weather

Gotta give a hand to her

 (It’s) sunny skies

 ‘Steada pouring rain

Cause the future’s will be full of joy

‘When you let go of the pain

Ay ay ay let’s take a ride

Ay ay ay to sunny skies

Dark clouds overhead

Seem to be lifting

Must be a gift to me

Cause giving means getting

Happiness and I’m letting

It all flow so easily, like

Chorus

And sometimes a little rain must fall

But you know it’s gonna help the flowers grow

Ay ay ay let’s take a ride to sunny skies

Some days it feels so good

To get yourself together

And take a ride to Jupiter

Oh, Sunny skies….
